Employees supported across the organization

Kia Motors America, the North American sales subsidiary for Kia, serves a workforce of over 5,000 employees with a lean learning and development function. With a single person managing all programs, Kia needed a way to scale events, knowledge sharing, and cross-organizational learning without adding headcount. The company partnered with PlusPlus to centralize event management, automate administrative tasks, and unlock participation across its global workforce.

What were the key challenges?

Kia had a rich portfolio of learning opportunities — including live events, lectures, onboarding programs, mentoring offerings, and inclusion initiatives — but lacked a centralized system to organize, promote, and measure engagement. Learning events were scattered across email threads, spreadsheets, and calendars, making discoverability difficult and administrative tasks overwhelming for a one-person team. Without a unified platform, participation was limited and organizational learning culture struggled to gain traction.

What approach worked?

Kia implemented PlusPlus as a single source of truth for all learning programs and employee events. By relying on PlusPlus’s Events Management and automation features — including calendar invites, enrollment tracking, waitlists, attendance checks, and post-event surveys — the team dramatically reduced administrative overhead and unlocked scale. Kia also encouraged employees to create and host their own formal and informal learning sessions, including peer-driven office hours and topic-based discussions. The platform’s discoverability and unified scheduling helped the executive team promote learning opportunities company-wide and contributed to a stronger culture of collaborative learning.

Now that we have been using the PlusPlus platform, we did 30 events in Q2, and already over 70 in Q3. Being able to say we have done over 100 events within 6 months is a really big win for us.
