Developer Experience
Onboarding your whole engineering org maintains.
Capture what your experts already teach as talks, videos and docs written in Markdown. Then build onboarding from modules each team owns and keeps current.

Capture it in the format they already use
Senior engineers won’t learn an authoring tool, and they won’t wait for an instructional designer. PlusPlus takes what they already produce.

Live sessions
They give the talk once. People enroll in person or online, the recording is attached, and it becomes part of the program.

Video
Upload a walkthrough and PlusPlus adds a transcript, chapters and an AI Coach that answers questions with timestamps.

Written in Markdown
Engineers write in Markdown, in their own repo. Each version publishes from CI, and readers are prompted when a newer one lands.
Nothing new to adopt. The teaching that already happens gets captured instead of lost.
Step by step
How every onboarding cohort runs

01
Every start date becomes a cohort.
Hire dates sync from Workday or Okta. A rule enrolls each new engineer in the next cohort for their location, and the cohort gets its own Slack channel.
Cohorts in Tracks →

02
Live or recorded, both count.
Put a live session and its recording in an equivalency. New hires pick what fits their week, and you can see which one each person used.
Events and recordings →

03
Readiness gets checked.
A short assessment confirms the basics landed. A rule assigns a refresher to anyone who didn’t pass.

04
Managers see who’s stuck.
Track insights show which step a cohort stalls on and who’s overdue. Hiring managers follow their own new hires in the Manager Portal.

Built from modules each team owns
One program manager can’t be the expert on security, infrastructure, data and mobile. When one person owns every page, everything goes stale at the same rate.
In PlusPlus, onboarding is assembled from nested tracks, each owned by the team that owns the system. Onboarding includes every module by reference, so when Security adds a step, every new hire in progress gets it.
The program manager runs the program instead of rewriting it.

FAQ
Questions, answered
What is engineering onboarding?
Engineering onboarding, also called developer onboarding, takes new engineers from day one to shipping on their own. On PlusPlus it’s a track built from modules each team owns, with live sessions, recorded talks and Markdown docs, and a cohort for every start date.
Do engineers have to learn an authoring tool?
No. They give talks, record videos and write Markdown. PlusPlus turns those into steps in the program.
How does content stay current?
Each team owns its module as a nested track. When they update it, every new hire in progress gets the change. Markdown docs republish from CI.
Can new hires attend live or watch later?
Yes. Put both in an equivalency and either one completes the step. You can see which one each person used.
How do new hires get enrolled?
Hire dates sync from Workday, Okta or SCIM. A rule enrolls each person in the next cohort for their location, with an optional day offset.
What do hiring managers see?
Their new hires’ progress and overdue steps in the Manager Portal. They can also be copied on assignment and overdue notices.
Can we use the content we already have?
Yes. Link existing docs and videos, import Google Docs, and add courses you already own, then arrange them into tracks.
How is this different from an LMS?
Keep your LMS for compliance. PlusPlus runs what it wasn’t built for: content your engineers update themselves, live sessions with the people who built the systems, and a cohort for every start date.

Who would own the first module?
Most teams start with the thing every new engineer asks about in week one. We’ll show you how to stand it up and how the rest assembles around it.
